Who It’s For

A linear gas fireplace usually means picking which room gets the fire—the living room gets the flame, and the dining room gets the back of a wall. You need a fire you can see from both sides. If you’re planning a wall between two rooms and want each side to feel like the room with the fireplace, the Vector 38 see-through is the one. Choose a single-sided unit instead and one room will always be the one people leave to go look at the fire.

What Makes It Special

The same fire shows through glass on both faces of the wall, so one unit becomes the focal point of two rooms at once. A multi-colored LED ember bed with top lights runs beneath and above the flame, and you pick the color from the eFIRE app on your phone—along with flame height and fan speed—or from the included remote, without leaving the couch.

Where the heat goes is up to you. The optional Dynamic Heat Control system lowers the wall temperature above the fireplace without a fan, so a TV or artwork can hang directly above it while the room still gets its warmth—quietly. A hot air distribution kit can carry warm air to a different room instead of letting it pool where the fireplace is.

Possible Downsides

• The fan kit is optional, not included, so moving air beyond the immediate rooms means adding it.
• Media and glass kits are required choices sold separately; the base unit ships without a log set or ember media.
• Heat management for a TV above is an add-on—the Dynamic Heat Control system is optional, not built in.

If you want one fire that anchors two rooms at once, the Vector 38 see-through is the right decision. Both sides of the wall become the room everyone ends up in.

Media choices run from birch and beach-fire log sets to woodland kits, mineral rocks, and glass beads or embers in a range of colors, with black or stainless steel surrounds, a four-sided finishing trim, and wrought iron globes to finish either face of the wall.
